Asus_Padfone_xMa’Bell finally gets around to selling the Asus Padfone X! The Padfone design from Asus is an excellent idea in theory. The idea turns a tablet into a dock and when connected with the phone it becomes a full fledged tablet.  The Padfone however has been on the back burner of At&t’s plans for quite some time now. Today however the company is finally committing to the device and it looks as if we have a date for pre-orders. Unfortunately an actual ship date is still missing in action, but with the pre-order information we are one step closer…right!

The Asus Padfone was first announced in conjunction with At&t way back in January. About six months ago both At&t and Asus were happy to announce the partnership and the prospect of the forth coming Padfone as a first of its kind here stateside. Unfortunately for unknown reasons the device is still un-official. Back in March At&t officially announced the devices spec sheet and it has all but been forgotten since. Today however the carrier has published a new press release stating the PadFone X’s pre-order date. Unfortunately, this small tidbit of information is not accompanied by a ship date. Pricing however is included! The Padfone X will run you about $200 bucks under the muse of a two year contract or around twenty to thirty dollars a month under At&t’s Next plans. While the actual launch date is still a bit unknown it is good to hear this new device will finally be making its way into the market place in the coming weeks. The Padfone X in case you were wondering is a 5 inch smart phone that offers up a 1080p HD touch screen and packs in a highly capable 2.3 GHz Qualcomm made Snapdragon 800 processor. It also packs in 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage and expandable micro SD memory options. Add in a 13 and 2 mega pixel cameras, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and a 9 inch tablet dock that offers up a 1920×1200 resolution and a super large 4990 mAh battery and the PadFone X starts to make much more sense!
